This is so true and is the reason why it initially made my transition hard as well. Cloud code definitely is an area that needs to improve on that aspect. Although to be fair, Portal-X has a lot of good things too and Legacy had a lot of issues that we were no longer bothering with since we've gotten used to them.

That being said, when Portal-X was still in Beta and not the main UI, i remember that a new Braincloud user was about to quit the product since he didn't like the Legacy and hadn't yet found out about the Portal-X. Portal-X made him stay. That's when i realised the issues of the Legacy UI even though i was ignoring them. I guess that's the 'developer effect'

Okay - there was definitely a regression on that page -- though it wasn't related to the feature I suspected. Anyway - check it now - it should be much much faster. And thanks for reporting it!

Oh - and everyone else - the Regions and App Store analytics pages are now live. Hopefully they help you to get great insights into your apps!

That screen IS seeming slow to me. I'm having the devs check it out. We recently added fetching of the entity size to the preview panes for Global Entities (and others) - and I'm suspecting that code may have crept into the routines that we use to fetch the list of objects? Maybe?

In any event - if you find things slow in Portal-X - definitely report them! A big focus of Portal-X was to have much better performance in dealing with larger apps with larger collections of data, users, etc... and in general I believe we've very much succeeded there.

Thanks for the feedback. I do appreciate that as we've worked to standardize the flows - that a few extra steps have been added to some of the usage flows. We'll continue to refine that.

Interesting regarding performance. Where abouts in the world are you located? And what screen are you seeing the loading data on?

Example of normal day routine from today

• portal-X require more clicks than previous version of dashboard to achieve same effect, e.g. editing entities require now unlock -> click to see short -> click to view content in fullscreen -> click to edit -> save, where in previous version you just have to unlock -> click -> save. First click on entity is useless, window in which it shows is too small to see anything so in 90% cases you will just jump to full screen mode
• it is slow when looking at entities I have in few retries loading data shows for few seconds, previous portal seems to be faster
• editing entities not always works, sometimes when you paste entity content save button will be still disabled and you have to clean up whole content and paste it again
• looking at users requires now more clicks too, I don't have any idea who will need that quick summary after first click and why it won't go to user profile after first click

After all maybe after few weeks I'll get used to it (I have to) but anyway for me it seems to be much harder to achieve effect that could be achieved with smaller amount of steps in previous implementation. There are some pros like new diff looks in audit log - still probably could be nice to have there button revert for quick reverting changes but having an option to show previous entity in full version is in plus. I know that legacy portal won't be kept there forever because in that way you have to update 2 dashboards together which seems to be a waste of time, but anyway it is sad day for a lot of people who uses it before

Any thoughts on the features that made you like it so much? We are always looking for ways to make Portal-X better!

We've enabled the Language page - but are going to hold on the Region and App Store pages - we've got a few calculation and display issues to address...

(It's hard to have our "test" data replicate the great variety of scenarios that we can see in live data. Anyway - we should have these fixed up in a jiffy )

brainCloud 5.4 is now live!

Note - the new Analytics Screens (for Region, Language and App Store analytics) - won't be available for another day or so. That's just cause the system needs to accumulate the data that those screens depend upon.
